CPFF Annual Meeting Highlights
Oct 31, 2009 (15:32:17)
The Annual meeting was hosted by Grand Junction Fire Fighters, who did a spectacular job. The golf tournament and the meeting were both top notch!
IAFF General President Schaitberger addressed the delegates and stressed the importance of how critical elections are. He highlighted the way fire fighters have been respected and valued under the Obama administration vs. the sub par treatment we recived under President Bush.
He also thought it was important to let the membership of each of our locals know exactly what we are doing as union affiliates. This is an issue that often slips as we are by our nature not lloking for credit for a job well done.
Some highlights of the event were the unaniomous passage of the Michael D. McNeill Cancer Fund, which will help Colorado's Professional Fire Fighters fight a never ending battle with groups that state fire fighters are not likely to contract cancer because of our dangerous jobs.
The cost of running the CPFF is also on the rise. The delegates voted to increase EDF & PAC funds.
